The annoyed annoys back.
My friend asked me how to approach a very annoying out-to-convert-everyone christian. So now I’m inspired. Here’s what I would say to him.

Dear christian person,

When did you decide to become a christian? (in most occasions; some people are actually snared by converters during a weak period in their lives)

You didn’t. Your parents decided for you to turn to this religion. And when did most parents decide to be a part of this abomination of religion? They didn’t either. The list goes on and on and dates back to centuries ago, when christianity didn’t exist. People were converted by the sword, and they had no choice but to change their way to live. Believe it or not, religion is/was a tool used by older monarchies to control their subjects. Kings would call themselves chosen by the gods/god to prevent their people from revolting [after all, the king is human, but if he were chosen by any deity, then people would be afraid to protest].

Kingdoms would use their religion as an excuse to attack and conquer other nations. The crusades wiped out too many non-catholic humans. A Christian by the name of Adolf Hitler led his people into wiping out 40 million people, 6 million of them Jews.

This world would be a lot better without religion. Don’t tell me none of this ‘values’ and ‘ethics’ crap. People don’t need a book on how to not be dicks.

about the being dicks part, it’s ironic how it is the bible that inspires individuals like the ones from Westboro Baptist Church to rally and protest for stupid things.
also how it has apparently justified christian’s hate actions towards those who are not like them.

I don’t understand why this webcomic has such a little audience…. check out Tatsuya Ishida’s webcomic: Sinfest it has entertained me for about two years. while the main characters have evolved and some matured, it still brings forward the great comedy  i saw in it from the start.

ineedadistraction:
i’m judging by fan activity. Sinfest has ~2000 registered users on its forums and Cyanide and Happiness just passed 100,000. that’s cause Sinfest started 5 years before. I’m pretty sure that’s a relatively very small audience…  then again cyanide and happiness does have a broader appeal, but I don’t see why Sinfest wouldn’t.
